The National Deaf Studies curriculum is meant to be accessed and
bought by anyone who is interested in using and teaching Deaf Studies in schools, units, services and colleges.
Deaf children are now scattered in different educational
establishments. This curriculum will ensure that Deaf children have a strong sense of identity; know where they belong in society today and understand the various communication modes used in both the Deaf and hearing 'worlds'.
‘…we will be able to look back and say ‘yes, that was an important
moment in Deaf history, in Deaf children’s history, that after 200+
years, finally a comprehensive curriculum document was produced by Deaf educators and accepted by many Deaf schools’.
